17 Strangers stranded in a desolate location in Japan. All of them looking to get to the end in a game that pushes peoples physical, mental and emotional abilities to the limit. 17 people all vying for one spot, only one can get it. Week by week people have been getting betrayed, blindsided and eliminated from the game on their journey to the million. Now only 4 of them remain and only one of them will win. Will it be girl with a spunk from NY, Eliza? Will it be the promiscuous and dashing Monica? Will it be the sweet and innocent Alexis? Or will it be the 40 year old firefighter who's somehow managed to survive alongside the black widow group in Tyrone? Only time will tell who will win.. but for now, let's recap this season's events:
*Recap done with main focus from Tyrone's point of view*
Episode 1:
The 17 strangers finally met face to face. They landed and were finally able to talk and get to know each other. Right off the bat one thing was obvious, this was a young cast. All of the castaways outside of the dog trainer in her 50's from Carolina, Jane, and the fit and built but old firefighter, Tyrone were in their 20's. Being the older of the crew, they had common grounds to start building a bond, but little to anyone's notice, Tyrone was slowly starting to spread through some of the younger cast's head by slightly getting to know them and building just enough of a bond that would end up paying dividends later down the road. The cast were then greeted by Damien and Sarah, who, to everyone's surprise but Tyrone, dropped the bomb that one of the 17 wouldn't even get the chance to stay for one day. There would be a challenge to do and the two winners would divide up the tribes with one person being eliminated.
The challenge got started, requiring the cast to complete a puzzle and solve it fast as they could. Everyone started working on the puzzle but in the end it was Alexis, and Jon Dalton who ended up coming in as the top two. They started picking their tribes and it was certain that it would come down to the two people who did not complete the puzzle and had no excuse, Charlie and Tyrone. But Alexis shocked everyone when she picked Charlie midway through the pick' em. At this point, Tyrone knew he was doomed cause he didn't do the puzzle, Jon and Alexis hadn't been some of the people he had connected with and he was starting to pack his bags. Last pick left for Jon. Tyrone and Rob C. are left. It was almost certain in Tyrone's mind that he was done. Jon stepped up to deliver his speech. "Now I have the ugly task of saving one of you guys while eliminating the other. With that being said…. It should come to no surprise that the token black guy is the last person picked. Get up here and grab your buff"
Tyrone was shocked… and Rob had become the first casualty of this game. He was not pleased but such is the game of survivor. Only one person will be happy by the end of it all, but with the events of the first day, this season was sure to deliver.
Episode 2:
The tribes, especially the almost all female tribe Alexis picked, were shocked Tyrone was picked over an the younger Rob. Alexis had picked mostly women for her tribe, outside of the surprising pick of Charlie early, and Ben. Her tribe consisted of those 3, Eliza, Na-Onka, Christy, Amanda and Jaime. Definitely an attractive bunch and lots of young blood. While the tribe Dalton had picked consisted of the two oldest players in the game, Tyrone and Jane, along with Monica, Marcus, Brad, John, and JT. The tribes seemed to be getting along ok. Jane had no problem assimilating herself within the tribe whereas Tyrone was a bit harder to gauge, he wasn't much for conversation. Dalton had no problem asserting himself as the leader in the tribe and people could have cared less because he was just being a fool.
The tribes finally arrived for the first challenge and Dalton had already irked the other tribe by being so cocky. Getting into it with the likes of Alexis and Jaime. It was beginning to be clear Dalton would end up being one of those players people love to hate, and for good reason, but also one of the types of players you'd keep around for a bit just because they will get voted out sooner or later.
The challenge begun and the Dalton-led Neishi tribe won immunity, doing a much better job at creating their kimono then the Alexis-led Kansai tribe. It appeared to be early on in the game that Ben and Na-Onka were the two to hold back the Kansai tribe, so one could only assume they would get the boot. Neishi left back for camp while the other tribe had to attend tribal. Can Neishi start a winning streak? Who will get the boot from Kansai? Only time will tell...
Episode 3:
With two people already being eliminated in the game, Tyrone should have been trying to get along with his tribe mates and get to know them, yet he picked and choose who he spoke with and picked his spots, only talking when approached. Even though it didn't seem like it, he had gotten in good with Marcus, Monica and Jane in the early stages of the game. He did not talk much with them but he had kept in touch with them just enough that if they were to lose the first challenge, he would be safe…. even if he was one of the main reasons for the loss.
The tribes met once again at the challenge field, and much to the surprise of Neishi, Eliza was not there… which came as a shock as she was one of the people who seemed to be active and participating in the game. "Must have been a real Jonny Fairplay at camp" thought Tyrone in his head, referring to the big ego headed Jon on his tribe. The challenge had come and gone like that and Tyrone, like the first individual challenge, failed to compete. His saving grace was that out of everyone on his tribe, only four people had competed in the challenge so he couldn't be the only one to blame. He knew no matter how strong his bonds were, which really weren't that strong in the first place, he was in trouble. Back at camp, Dalton, having picked the tribe had a dumb idea in his head that it entitled him to call the shots. Most of the people did not like how he took leadership but didn't say anything cause he was just making a target out of himself. Regardless, the tribe had to go to tribal council and Tyrone knew his name would come up. But he was able to pull some people aside and see where they were and they did not vote him. They were voting for JT, the other reason they lost, but Tyrone's name had come up. At tribal, Dalton just stroked his ego as being the leader of this tribe and Tyrone had brought up the idea of getting him out before they came and people talked about it, but decided to play it safe and get rid of JT.
The votes had been read and by a vote of 5-2-1, JT had been voted out. Tyrone had received two votes, which he would find out who they were back at camp and one hinky vote towards Fairplay.
Episode 4:
After the previous night's events at tribal, the Neishi tribe went back to camp and settled in.
"Alright Jane, do you know who put my name down?" said Tyrone
"It was Fairplay and John K, they wanted to vote you out but me, Monica and Marcus didn't want that to happen" replied Jane.
Tyrone knew he had to do something to step up in the challenge this round because he hadn't really been connecting with anyone outside those 4 and although it might have been enough to get him by in the game for atlas the tribal stages, it wasn't enough to help him go far. The tribe really seemed to be divided, with Fairplay and his crew on one side, and the people who felt like they were on the outs in Tyrone, Jane, Monica and Marcus, but not anymore as they now would have the numbers in case of tribal. Dalton was still too blind to see anything and barked out orders. Tyrone just ignored him at the camp and slept all the time, waking up in time for the challenge.
The challenge was a Japanese style mixed martial arts where players would match-up. Now this was more to Tyrone's taste. He loved this challenge and actually competed. When the dust had settled, Neishi had completely obliterated Kansai with only Jane losing her match-up.
Kansai was headed back to tribal after not going the previous time. Back at camp, Fairplay and Tyrone finally talked for what seemed to be the first time, Tyrone was pissed Dalton told Brad good job in the challenge and nobody else but he kept it to himself because he was planning on getting him back another way. Neishi tribe was strong in challenges so that was one of the main reasons Tyrone kept more so to himself, but he would keep in touch with Marcus, Jane and Monica from time to time, keeping tabs for the future.
Episode 5:
This was a bad day. The weather sucked, nobody got any sleep and there was an early challenge. Back at camp, nothing really happened, the tribe woke up, ate their portion of rice and set out for the challenge. The tribe might be winning a lot, but they sure did not have much in common, everybody was just keeping an eye on one another, waiting for them to slip up so they can use it against them if they were to go to tribal.
The tribes arrive at the challenge again and Neishi see's that Na'Onka was voted out. It wasn't too big of a surprise, but people thought it might have been Ben getting the boot. But it didn't really matter if it was Na-Onka or Ben who went… or so Neishi thought.... The challenge this time around was a obstacle course, first to the finish line. Kansai raced out to a really early lead, having everyone finish but Benry, who seemed to have gotten lost on the way. Neishi was right there with them neck to neck with Tyrone taking a break to go and pick flowers, not really caring much for the challenge.
Fast forwards 12 hours later in the challenge and both tribes need just one person to finish… everyone can see a shadow in the distance… Neishi think's it's Ben, Kansai think's it's Ben…. but as the shadow comes closer, the build of this person is too big for Benry.. It's Tyrone!
Tyrone finishes the challenge up for Neishi and Kansai has to go to another tribal council. If Na-Onka was still in the game, Kansai would have won the challenge, but things have a funny way of turning around in the game. After the challenge was over, Dalton annoyed the girls on the other tribe taking all the credit prompting Alexis to say he got lucky Benry never showed, as they were done right away. Jaime then added in that his sucky leadership skills were made up by the stronger tribe. They argued a bit and Neishi went back to their tribe while Kansai went to tribal council, with everyone presuming this vote to be Ben leaving.
Episode 6:
The weather on this day was different. It was, at first glade, the appearance of a nice day, but the weather was cold, the players were grumpy and the bugs were everywhere. "Something big bout to go down" said Tyrone.
The castaways read tree-mail and were instructed to bring their valuables. Tyrone was glad, thinking merge or a swap, didn't really care for his tribe. He was hoping the tribal shuffle would land him on a tribe with the majority from the other tribe and Dalton, because unbeknownst to anyone, Tyrone had secretly slipped on a message to Jaime and Alexis two challenges ago telling them he will help them get rid of Dalton later in the game if they can, so Tyrone was hoping something like that would end up happening.
The tribes appeared at the challenge and to no one's surprise, Ben had been voted out.
Sarah: "Drop your buffs"
Damien: "Time for shuffle, all of you pick numbers now!"
And with that the castaways picked numbers and the new tribes were picked. Monica, Jane, John K, Tyrone all ended up on Kansai along with Jaime and Christy. Right before the challenge, Monica talked with Tyrone and Jane and discussed throwing the challenge to weaken Dalton, by voting John K off. Everyone agreed but Tyrone was skeptical. The challenge began and Kansai threw the challenge, with only Tyrone mustering a point for the tribe.
Back at camp before tribal, Monica was hell bent on getting John K out but then thought about it and settled for Christy. She told Tyrone and Jane to do the same, and John would too. But Tyrone had talked with Jaime and Christy seemed nice, so he was skeptical, he told Jaime and Christy to vote for John K, he did not like Dalton so anything to weaken him. But then Tyrone and Jane started talking… and they didn't like Monica being bossy and pretending to be buddies with them when it was clear she was sucking up to Dalton at the old tribe too. Tyrone insisted she is a huge threat and Jane and Tyrone knew the vote without them was 2-2 Christy and John K… So what if they voted for Monica and caused a three way tie? Then Jaime and those two vote, since the three in a tie can't, and they can get Monica out… Genius plan.
At tribal.. Jane and Tyrone executed their plan and the vote was a three way tie, as they had set out. Tyrone was all smiles, knowing getting Monica out would be the best move of the game so far. But then Jane was sucked into Monica's trap, and had gotten to Jaime too. At this point, voting Monica alone would accomplish nothing, but put a target on his back so he shut up and voted John K out. But now he was weary of Jane and Monica, he even told Jane she made a dumb move and would pay for it later… and in the revote, John was voted out and Tyrone could only shake his head in disgust… will his predictions come true? Only time will tell...
